St Addai Church was established with the arrival of its 1st permanent Chaldean Catholic priest in 2003, thereafter, a church building was acquired in 2005 and was consecrated by the late Patriarch Raphael I Bidawid, Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans. The parish of St Addai the Apostle serves the Chaldean/Assyrian/Syriac community in New Zealand concentrated mainly in Auckland where the Church is located in South Auckland. The priest serves the community in 4 centres of Manukau and North Shore in Auckland; Hamilton and Wellington. The community is about 1500-2000 members in New Zealand. The Church is open to all with masses usually daily in the late afternoon or/and every Sunday at 10am. It has Youth masses every 1st Sunday of the month where English is also used along with the Aramaic (Chaldean) and Arabic languages.
